Another walk along the hills of Gardendale
I am lost in the silence and the colors in the air
Sometimes I feel like I have disappeared
Into the mesmerizing realm of the setting sun’s glare
It’s been one year since I left Stillwater
It’s been one year since I last called and talked to her
It’s been one year of not knowing where to go
But through it all, I’ve learned how to grow
My memories are hazy like a ghost in the wind
I’ve been all the way around the sun, another cycle ends
Sometimes I feel like I am in a dream
And can’t decipher fake from real – what does that mean
It’s been one year since my mind has been at peace
It’s been one year since I have felt any relief
It’s been one year of constant longing
But through it all, I have become stronger
As broken as I’ve been
With all the scars on my skin
I would do it all over again
This is only the beginning
It’s been one year since I came to Nashville
It’s been one year since I told anyone how I feel
It’s been one year of wanting to move along
But through it all, I’ve found where I belong
